Cool Scientific Milk Experiment

You will need:-

  • a shallow bowl or plate
  • some full fat milk
  • food colourings
  • liquid soap or washing-up detergent

How does this work?

The food colouring is less dense than the milk so it remains in the fat molecules of the milk.

The liquid soap breaks up the fat in the milk and lets it spread across the surface of the milk creating the beautiful patterns and movements that you have just seen.

Science can be fun!
