…….Mrs Claus and I had a visit from a very old and very dear friend today, the Easter Bunny. He pops in once or twice a year and we always have a good old chat about times gone by. I recalled an old tale from about a hundred or so years ago where I delivered presents to a group of children travelling from England to America on a great big sailing ship. To land on a sailing ship, as you can imagine, would have been a completely impossible task, so I had to instruct the reindeer to fly just above the ship and at the same speed as the ship whilst I ‘magicked’ myself onto to the deck from the sleigh. That was tricky enough but what I didn’t count on, was that whilst I was below deck filling the children’s stockings, the sailors put the sails up and the ship suddenly took off at twice the speed as before! Now as you can imagine that completely confused the reindeer as they wern’t expecting this either, and when I arrived back on the deck the sleigh was a fair old distance behind the ship and too far away for me to ‘magic’ myself back onto it. I have to tell you that I felt a little bit panicky at this moment and there was a very good chance that I may be seen. It was only due to the quick thinking of Elf Frosty, who was in the sleigh with me, that the sleigh caught the ship up and I managed to get back onto it without being seen. From that year on, I have to say that I dread present delivering at sea………
Until tomorrow dear diary
